“Wood is warm and soft, has its edges and its structure – it’s just pure nature! I am virtually a dowser who has stumbled upon a source of water, or wood. Life has led me to wood and connected me to the element.”
Daniel Fuchs invented his own technique for his wood element, which transforms wooden panels into fascinating reliefs. The filigree technician uses a scroll machine to cut out wafer-thin slices, ring by ring, which he then separates like an accordion and then rearranges until a unique work of art is created.
